Quando da bambino mi veniva chiesto cosa volessi fare da grande rispondevo: "L'attore e l'esploratore". Il primo proposito è venuto meno molto presto, credo ancora prima dell'adolescenza, mentre il secondo è sempre stato presente e mi ha spinto ad iniziare a viaggiare appena mi è stato possibile.
In una prima fase la macchina fotografica è stata solo un mezzo per portare a casa il ricordo dei luoghi visitati, ma con il tempo e soprattutto dopo i primi viaggi in Africa, che ho avuto la fortuna di poter visitare con regolarità dal 2001 al 2014, ho sentito l'esigenza di approfondire seriamente la fotografia per migliorare qualità e contenuto delle immagini che non mi soddisfacevano.
L'interesse iniziale per l'Africa era motivato soprattutto dal fatto di poter vedere con i miei occhi i paesaggi e la fauna dei grandi parchi nazionali, ma l’opportunità di entrare in contatto con le popolazioni ha maturato in me il desiderio di approfondire gli aspetti etnografici e culturali del continente e di documentarli, per quanto possibile, secondo la mia visione.
La voglia di viaggiare, che in alcuni momenti diventa "necessità" e la passione per la fotografia hanno iniziato ad alimentarsi a vicenda al punto che ora non saprei dire quale delle due mi spinga maggiormente a visitare nuovi paesi.
Dopo alcuni anni trascorsi senza la possibiltà di lasciare l' Italia e durante i quali mi sono dedicato a progetti personali, nel 2022 sono riuscito finalmente a realizzare il mio primo viaggio in India, a cui pensavo e che desideravo da tanto, ancora prima che si accendesse la passione per la fotografia:.
In questi anni ho frequentato alcuni workshop con fotografi di caratura internazionale che hanno contribuito a farmi conseguire una maggiore consapevolezza rispetto al "fare fotografia" .
Sono convinto che viaggiare, soprattutto in paesi con cultura e stile di vita molto diversi dai propri, in qualche maniera modifichi la visione del mondo; farlo con "occhio fotografico" permette di vedere da una prospettiva diversa, forse più profonda.

When I was child and someone asked me: “ What do you want to be when you grow up? “, I answered: “ actor and explorer”. The first purpose has failed very early, I guess before adolescence, but the second one has been ever present pushing me to travel as soon as possible.
At first the camera was just as a tool to take home the memories of the places I visited, but after the first trips to Africa, which I was lucky enough to visit regularly from 2001 to 2014, I felt the need to deepen photography in order to get better quality in my pictures. In the beginnig, I was interested to see African landscapes and fauna with my own eyes, but the opportunity to get in touch with people pushed me to documenting ethnographic and cultural aspects according to my vision.
The desire to travel, which sometimes becoming a “necessity”, and the passion for photography have started to feed each other and now I can't say which of the two drives me more to visit new countries.
In 2022 I finally had the opportunity to visit India; it was the trip I have dreamt of and wanted for a very long time.
In these years I have attended some whorkshops with international photographers who have helped me to reach a greater awareness about “doing phtography”.
I'm convinced that travelling, especially in countries with culture a lifestyle that are different from ours, somehow changes the way we see the world, doing it with a “photgraphic eye” allows you to look at things watch with a different perpective, perhaps more profound.
