Inizio a fotografare nei primi anni 2000. La passione per gli animali – presente da sempre – e quella per il viaggio mi portano ad avere il primo approccio con la fotografia naturalistica. Tuttavia i viaggi, soprattutto quelli in Africa dove torno più volte, sono anche occasione di incontro con popolazioni e contesti sociali che fanno nascere in me il desiderio di documentare la vita delle persone, spostando il mio interesse prevalentemente sulla fotografia documentaria.
Sebbene uno dei miei progetti che ha ottenuto più riconoscimenti è stato realizzato praticamente a casa, la voglia di viaggiare in alcuni momenti diventa "necessità".
La voglia di conoscere nuovi posti e la passione per la fotografia si alimentano vicenda al punto che diventa difficile capire quale delle due sia di maggior stimolo a mettermi in viaggio.
Da alcuni anni la scelta di nuove destinazioni è legata alla ricerca di storie diverse da raccontare, anche lontane e poco conosciute, nell’intento di dar loro visibilità ma cercando di mantenere sempre un approccio rispettoso e consapevole per i soggetti coinvolti.
Sono convinto che viaggiare, soprattutto in paesi con cultura e stile di vita molto diversi dai propri, in qualche maniera modifichi la visione del mondo; farlo con "occhio fotografico" permette di vedere da una prospettiva diversa, forse più profonda.

I started taking photographs in the early 2000s. My passion for animals –always present– and my passion for travel lead me to my first encounter with nature photography. However, travel, especially to Africa, where I return several times, is also an opportunity to encounter populations and social contexts that give rise to a desire in me to document people's lives, shifting my interest primarily to documentary photography.
While one of my most recognized projects was done practically at home, the desire to travel becomes "necessity" at times.
The desire to discover new places and the passion for photography fuel each other to the point that it becomes difficult to understand which of the two is more stimulating to get me on the road.
For several years, the choice of new destinations has been linked to the search for different stories to tell, even distant and little-known ones, with the aim of giving them visibility but always trying to maintain a respectful and informed approach for those involved.
I'm convinced that travelling, especially in countries with culture a lifestyle that are different from ours, somehow changes the way we see the world, doing it with a “photgraphic eye” allows you to look at things watch with a different perpective, perhaps more profound.
